With roots in advocacy and a passion for ice cream excellence, A portion of our brand's net profits are dedicated to advancing awareness, education and resources for non-profits aligned with the journey of Atypical Parkinson -- PSP-CBD, MSA, DLB, and other neurodegenerative conditions. Every scoop supports a story. Every tub carries a purpose. We believe every spoonful can create ripple effects of compassion and change.

Every scoop supports a meaningful mission at Timtations. Founded by Tim Brown, our artisan ice cream heritage fuels awareness and resources for nonprofits focused on neurodegenerative diseases.
The journey of Timtations began with a boyhood dream and a scoop of ice cream. Featured Presentations -- Golden Pear and Ginger Walnut, Sweetheart Sundae, and From a Distance.

In the late 1970s through the early 1990s, Tim Brown found himself living that dream as the manager and owner of a quick-service restaurant –Friendly's, in Toronto’s Eaton Centre.
Tucked inside was a scoop shop and a frozen yogurt bar, each offering customers a taste of creativity and comfort. While frozen yogurt opened doors for playful, personalized combinations, ice cream options at the time remained limited.
As Ben & Jerry’s was just beginning to shake up the dessert world in Vermont, Tim was quietly building a foundation of flavour and imagination in Canada.

Fast forward, and Tim found himself embarking on an unexpected new chapter far removed from the food and hospitality industry – manufacturing. Then, in 2013, Tim’s path took a profound turn.
After receiving a diagnosis of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare and life-limiting progressive neurodegenerative condition, Tim stepped away from the manufacturing world and into the world of advocacy.
PSP, along with conditions like Corticobasal Syndrome (CBS), Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), and Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB), are collectively known as Atypical Parkinsonism. Due to their early resemblance to Parkinson’s Disease, these conditions are often misdiagnosed, leaving patients and families seeking clarity and support.
Tim’s advocacy; to include publishing four books -- The PSP Chronicles on his personal journey with PSP, shines a light on these misunderstood diseases, creating a lasting impact on the community.
With heart and determination, Tim began connecting with others affected by these conditions, building friendships and support networks through social media. Inspired by this growing community, he launched the PSP & CBD Ice Cream Challenge in 2015—an annual May tradition that invites people from all walks of life to share photos of themselves enjoying their favourite frozen dessert on Facebook and shared across other platforms, accompanied by hashtags like #IceCreamChallenge #ThinkIceCreamThinkPSPCBD.

The PSP & CBD Ice Cream Challenge
What started as a gesture of connection has grown into a global movement for awareness and support.
In 2022, with his signature creativity and flair, Tim took the challenge to new heights. Amid the final year of the COVID-19 pandemic, he introduced Timtations, a handcrafted line of artisan ice creams designed especially for the campaign.
With more than 100 unique recipes for development, Timtations reflects not only Tim’s lifelong love for ice cream but also his commitment to using joy as a catalyst for change.
